QUALITATIVE USER RESEARCH

Through exploratory customer research, either in customersʼ homes/workplaces or via the web, we gather critical information about your target customers. We team this with exploration of the competitive landscape to identify customersʼ unmet needs and generate compelling design solutions. During the design process, we conduct usability studies to evaluate designs and adjust as needed.


OPPORTUNITY ANALYSIS AND CUSTOMER CHARACTERIZATION

Through in-depth analysis of customer research and other data, we characterize and prioritize target user groups, define their goals and high-level use processes, and identify important opportunities for improvement or innovation – both at the product level, and throughout the end-to-end experience customers will have with your product.


REQUIREMENTS DEFINITION AND SOLUTION DESIGN

Beginning with a clear understanding of what customers are trying to accomplish and how they want to accomplish it, we determine the key requirements for a successful solution. We ideate a variety of high-level solutions and design frameworks, map these back to requirements, and refine until one or more directions are identified.


INTERACTION DESIGN

We establish the user experience architecture and interaction design for the solution, including conceptual model, sketch screens and wireframes - at whatever level of detail is needed for the project.


VISUAL DESIGN

Visual design solutions are developed in partnership with designers, with the key goal of supporting usability and creating the desired use experience for your customers.


DESIGN GUIDELINES

For an interface to be highly usable, it must be based on a coherent interaction and visual “design language” – a system of on-screen elements (buttons, colors, etc.) with consistent and understandable behaviors. We can provide design guidelines that explicitly describe the design language of the interface so it can easily be extended.


END-TO-END EXPERIENCE DESIGN

Focusing development on your product alone isnʼt enough. Envisioning how your customers will learn about, purchase or adopt, and get assistance with your solution is critical to its success - and can also impact its use. We work with your team to envision your customersʼexperiences throughout their journey with your product, clarify strategic points that will lead to success or failure, and map out internal processes to support the desired customer experience.
